Political consultations between Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Artsakh

On March 24, regular political consultations took place between the Foreign Ministries of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Artsakh.

Тhe Armenian side at the consultations was represented by Deputy Foreign Minister Ashot Hovakimian, and the Artsakh side by Deputy Foreign Ministers Armine Aleksanyan and Felix Khachatrian.

During the consultations, a wide range of issues concerning the expansion and development of the existing cooperation between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries was discussed.

Special attention was paid to the issues of coordination of positions on matters of mutual interest within international formats and further expansion of cooperation to this end.

The sides also touched upon the latest developments in the settlement of Karabakh conflict, in particular, the situation established in the aftermath of the military actions unleashed by Azerbaijan in the beginning of April 2016. Views were exchanged on a number of regional and international issues.

In the framework of consultations, Deputy Foreign Minister Ashot Hovakimian was received by Karen Mirzoyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh, who commended the high level of cooperation between the two Foreign Ministries and expressed confidence that it should be developed and deepened by joint efforts.

During the visit to Artsakh, Deputy Foreign Minister Hovakimian was received by Bako Sahakyan, President of the Republic of Artsakh and Ashot Ghulyan, President of the National Assembly.
