Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium handed over copies of his credentials to Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia

On May 23, Jean-Arthur Régibeau, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Armenia, handed the copies of his credentials to Garen Nazarian, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia.

Deputy Foreign Minister Nazarian congratulated Jean-Arthur Régibeau on his appointment, wished him success in his tenure and at the same time expressed hope that the newly appointed Ambassador will have his important contribution to the comprehensive development of the Armenian-Belgian relations.

Ambassador Régibeau expressed gratitude for the reception and best wishes and noted in his turn that he will exert all the possible efforts to give a new impetus to bilateral relations and to have them raised at a qualitatively new level.

During the meeting the issues of the agenda of the Armenian-Belgian relations, including the steps towards intensifying the political dialogue, development of interparliamentary ties, and enhancing the trade and economic ties were discussed.

Deputy Minister Nazarian briefed the newly appointed Ambassador on the latest developments of the Armenia-EU collaboration. The sides exchanged views on the perspectives of the multidimensional cooperation with the EU member-states and with Belgium in particular.

During the meeting, the process of settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict was touched upon.
