Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Armen Papikyan Received Members of the Parliament of Estonia

On May 30, Armen Papikyan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, received the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Riigikogu (Parliament of Estonia) Marko Mihkelson and Chairman of the National Defence Committee of the Riigikogu Hannes Hanso.

Welcoming the guests, Deputy Foreign Minister Papikyan noted that Armenia is interested in developing mutually beneficial relations with Estonia. The interlocutors attached an importance to the intensification of the political dialogue between the two countries, active cooperation between parliamentarians as well as deepening of trade and economic relations.

Deputy Foreign Minister Papikyan presented to the Estonian MPs the latest developments of the Armenia-EU cooperation. The sides exchanged views on the perspectives of multisectoral cooperation with the member-states of the EU, particularly with Estonia.

During the meeting the sides touched upon the process of the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Among other issues, the situation in the Middle East was discussed, the importance of ensuring peace and stability in the region was highlighted. Views were exchanged on a number of issues of regional and international agenda.
