Edward Nalbandian received Special Envoys for EU Eastern Partnership

On May 31, Edward Nalbandian, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, received Special Envoys for Eastern Partnership of Foreign Ministries of EU member-states Latvia, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Estonia and Sweden, headed by ambassador Dusan Dacho, the Special Envoy of the MFA of Slovakia, which holded the previous EU presidency.

During the meeting the sides discussed in details the Armenia-European Union collaboration, the cooperation in the framework of the Eastern Partnership, preparatory works for the summit to be held in Brussels in November.

Both sides emphasized the dynamic development of relations between Armenia and the European Union, the achievements recorded in the last years, including joining the Horizon 2020, COSME programmes and the initiated negotiations over participation in the Creative Europe programme and joining the Common Aviation Area.

The interlocutors touched upon the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement between Armenia and the European Union and the Armenia-European Union 2017-2020 Partnership Priorities document, noting that those are a good basis for the development of the relations. The sides highlighted the importance of adoption of the decision on initiating visa liberalisation dialogue.

The Special Envoys of the European countries highly appreciated the constructive and active engagement of Armenia in the processes that take place in the framework of the Eastern Partnership.
