Embassy of the Republic of Armenia to Canada Participated in "Doors Open Ottawa"

On June 3rd and 4th, the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia to Canada traditionally participated in “Doors Open Ottawa” program. Within the framework of the project, many cultural, historical and public buildings, including a number of embassies, open their doors to the general public.

The Embassy received about 600 visitors, who got acquainted with the architecture and history of the building, had a chance to learn about Armenian culture, history and values. The visitors were also presented to a number of paintings and sculptures by renowned modern Armenian artists, showcased at the Embassy. Armen Yeganian, the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Canada, as well as the Embassy staff answered numerous questions of the visitors regarding Armenia..

Note: The Embassy's building was built in 1908. Previously the diplomatic mission of Uruguay, then the diplomatic mission of Hungary were located there. In March of 1995, the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia to Canada became the third foreign mission to occupy the historical mansion. In 2008, the mansion received a "Heritage Designation" by the City Hall of Ottawa.
