Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Edward Nalbandian and Minister for Foreign and European Affairs of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg Jean Asselborn exchanged letters on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Luxembourg.

In his message Minister Nalbandian notes that throughout the last 25 years the friendly relations between our countries have developed both in a bilateral format, and within the framework of international organisations, where the support of Luxembourg has been especially valuable in the context of Armenia’s cooperation with the European Union, as well as the International Organisation of La Francophonie, the next Summit of which, thanks also to the support of Luxembourg, will be hosted by Armenia in the fall of 2018.

Minister Nalbandian also values the fact of recognition of the Armenian Genocide by the Chamber of Deputies of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in 2015 and is convinced, that it contributed to the international efforts for the prevention of new genocides and crimes against humanity.

In conclusion, Edward Nalbandian expresses the confidence, that the close friendly relations established between the two countries will be continuously strengthened, due to joint efforts towards strengthening the bonds of sympathy and mutual trust between the two peoples.

The Foreign Minister of Luxembourg notes in his message, that since the establishment of diplomatic relations Armenia and Luxembourg managed to develop a pragmatic and fruitful cooperation in various fields, strengthening the ties that connect the two states and deepening the mutual understanding, as well as the existing mutual trust.

Minister Asselborn underlines, that the potential for further development of the cooperation between Armenia and Luxembourg is far from being exhausted, and congratulates as this anniversary is yet another opportunity for raising the level and further development of our relationship.
