On June 23, the military band of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, the “Salamanca” band of the Ministry of Defence of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the British Army trumpeters performed in the Liberty Square.

The concert of the Armenian and British bands gave launch to a series of events dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

In his opening remarks at the joint concert, Deputy Foreign Minister Garen Nazarian touched upon the close cooperation established between the Republic of Armenia and the United Kingdom and noted that these type of events are aimed at promoting mutual understanding and increasing contacts between our societies, particularly among the youth, in the fields of education, science and in other areas.

Garen Nazarian also underlined that the two countries cooperate successfully in the bilateral and multilateral formats, focusing on the challenges threatening the international community and the issues related to addressing them. He expressed hope that through joint efforts we will keep the positive dynamics of close cooperation and will raise the interstate dialogue to a qualitatively new level.

The event was attended by the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia, Ambassador of the United Kingdom, representatives of the diplomatic corps, and a large number of residents and guests of Yerevan.
