The newly appointed Ambassador of Iceland presented copies of credentials to Deputy Foreign Minister

On July 11, Garen Nazarian, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, received Berglind Ásgeirsdóttir, the newly-appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Iceland to Armenia (residence in Moscow), who presented the copies of her credentials.

Garen Nazarian congratulated Ms. Ásgeirsdóttir on the occasion of her appointment as an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia and expressed hope that the work of the Ambassador will give a new quality to the process of expanding the relations, both in bilateral and multilateral formats.

At the meeting, the sides discussed numerous issues of mutual interest, touched upon the areas with existing potential and perspectives for cooperation. Deputy Minister and Ambassador exchanged views on expanding the Armenian - Icelandic political dialogue, as well as intensifying the sectoral and trade and economic cooperation.

Expressing her gratitude for the reception and good wishes, Ambassador Ásgeirsdóttir assured, that she would make maximum efforts to deepen the relations between the two countries in various fields and advance the bilateral agenda.

The parties touched upon the recent developments in the region. Deputy Minister presented the joint efforts of Armenia and OSCE Minsk Group Co-chair countries aimed at peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as well as continuous aggressive actions by Azerbaijan.
