Meeting between Interagency working group on nationalisation of Sustainable Development Goals and experts of the UNDP Bureau for Policy and Programme Support

On July 28, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ashot Hovakimian delivered a welcoming remarks at the meeting between the Interagency working group on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Nationalisation and the UN country team on mainstreaming, acceleration and policy support for SDGs of the UNDP Bureau for Policy and Programme Support, who arrived from New York.

Vahe Jilavyan, Deputy Chief of Government Staff and the Chair of the Interagency working group, while expressing his appreciation to the country team for its efficient and constructive cooperation with agencies of Armenia, expressed hope that the results of their visit to Armenia would contribute to a proper SDGs nationalisation process. Tanja Radocaj, Acting UN Resident Coordinator and UNICEF Representative in Armenia, also welcomed the participants of the meeting.

Nik Sekhran, Head of the UN country team on mainstreaming, acceleration and policy support for SDGs of the UNDP Bureau for Policy and Programme Support, presented to the members of the Interagency working group the preliminary conclusions of their meetings and discussions, touching upon some specificities of the SDGs nationalisation and localisation.

Based on the results of the visit to Armenia and best practices of the United Nations, the UNDP mission will draw a roadmap, which will include the vision of the Government of Armenia on the implementation of the “2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”.
