Deputy Foreign Minister Armen Papikyan received the delegation headed by Dr. Fadli Zon, Deputy Speaker of the People's Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia

On August 31, Armen Papikyan, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia, received Dr. Fadli Zon, Deputy Speaker of the People's Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia, and the delegation headed by him, consisting of five members of the House of Representatives and accompanied by Yuddy Chrisnandi, Ambassador of Indonesia to Armenia (residence in Kiev).

Welcoming the guest, Deputy Minister Armen Papikyan commended the recent intensification of contacts between the two countries in various spheres; both countries successfully cooperate also within the framework of international institutions.

Dr. Fadli Zon, Deputy Speaker of the People's Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia, thanked for the warm reception and emphasized that the two countries have similar approaches on numerous international issues.

During the meeting, the sides attached importance to the further development of bilateral economic and cultural relations, which have a sufficient potential. Cooperation in the spheres of tourism, education and culture were also highlighted as prospective. Indonesia's membership to the G20 and Armenia's accession to YATM, as well as privileged conditions for Armenia in other markets were highlighted as a solid precondition for the development of cooperation in business and investment field.

Within the context of further expansion of bilateral relations the sides touched upon the further development of cooperation between the parliamentarians, as well as the promotion of people-to-people contacts in different spheres. The sides also highlighted the importance of holding regular consultations on issues of mutual interest and organizing joint events for the advancement of relations.

Dr. Fadli Zon expressed readiness to undertake efforts to fully exploit the potential of existing cooperation between the two countries.

Deputy Minister Armen Papikyan presented Armenia's position on the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, highlighting the importance of the support of friendly countries to the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs, who enjoy the international mandate for mediation.

The sides also exchanged views on the developments in the respective regions, as well as on a number of issues of international agenda.
