The Foreign Minister of Armenia met with the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State

On September 20, in New York Edward Nalbandian, Foreign Minister of Armenia, met with Elisabeth Millard, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs, Fiona Hill, National Security Council’s Senior Director for European and Russian Affairs, and Bridget Brink, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs.

During the meeting, a detailed discussion was held on a number of issues related to the further development of the Armenia-US friendly partnership.

In the course of talks, the interlocutors touched upon the steps to be taken to expand trade and economic ties and promote investments. In this context, both sides highlighted the importance of the activities of the Armenian-US Intergovernmental Committee on Economic Cooperation and the Armenia-US Council on Trade and Investment.

Views were exchanged on regional issues, particularly, on the current situation in the Middle East.

The American side highly attached high importance to Armenia’s active participation in the peacekeeping missions.

The high-ranking US diplomats reaffirmed the commitment of the United States as the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair to continue its active involvement towards the exclusively peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
