On September 21, in New York Edward Nalbandian, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian and Lorin Robert, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of Micronesia, signed protocol on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

During the meeting that followed the signing ceremony, the Foreign Ministers emphasized that the establishment of diplomatic relations provides an opportunity to activate bilateral contacts and cooperation within international organizations.
