On September 22, in New York Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian and Baron Waqa, President of Nauru and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, signed protocol on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The President of Nauru and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia expressed hope that the establishment of diplomatic relations will create an opportunity to develop mutually beneficial cooperation in international platforms.
