Foreign Minister of Armenia met with Minister of Investment and International Cooperation of Egypt

On September 29, Edward Nalbandian received Sahar Nasr, Minister of Investment and International Cooperation of Egypt and Co-Chair of the Armenian-Egyptian Intergovernmental Commission, and the delegation accompanying her, that has arrived to Armenia to participate in the session of the Intergovernmental Commission.

Welcoming the guests, Minister Nalbandian noted that Armenia attaches special importance to the development of multifaceted relations with Egypt and expressed confidence that through joint efforts a new impetus will be given to bilateral cooperation. Minister Nalbandian stressed that Egypt has a special importance for him - as the first Ambassador of Armenia he had the honor to represent his country for many years in Egypt. He highlighted the importance of mutual steps undertaken towards the deepening of the Armenian-Egyptian traditional friendly relations and, within this context, valued the activities of the Intergovernmental Commission.

Thanking for the reception, Sahar Nasr, Minister of Investment and International Cooperation of Egypt, presented the outcomes of the 5th session of the Armenian-Egyptian Intergovernmental Commission being held in Yerevan these days, by highlighting the importance of the business forum held on the sidelines of the session and the arrangements reached.

At the meeting, the sides discussed a number of issues on the Armenian-Egyptian agenda, exchanged views on the enhancement of political dialogue, intensification of inter-parliamentary contacts, boosting trade and economic relations, implementation of joint programs in the field of education and culture, expansion of legal framework.

The talks focused on the promotion of tourism. In this context, they stressed the importance of visa facilitation and the operating of direct flights.
