Political consultations between Foreign Ministries of Armenia and Finland

On October 11, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia hosted political consultations between Foreign Ministries of Armenia and Finland. From the Armenian side the consultations were conducted by Gagik Ghalatchyan, Head of the European Department of the Foreign Ministry of Armenia, and from the Finnish side by Maimo Henriksson, Director General of Department for Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia of the Foreign Ministry of Finland.

The sides discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral interest, highlighting the importance of conducting regular political consultations and high-level visits.

Delegations of the two countries also touched upon the issues of expanding trade and economic cooperation, exchanged views on boosting cooperation in sectoral directions.

On the same day, the Finnish delegation was received by Deputy Foreign Minister Garen Nazarian. At the meeting the sides touched upon Armenia-EU cooperation, issues related to the EU Eastern Partnership Summit to be held in Brussels in November.

At the request of the Finnish side, Deputy Minister Nazarian briefed on Armenia's approaches to the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and developments in the region.
