Foreign Minister of Armenia received the parliamentary delegation of Iraq

On October 30, Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian received the representative delegation of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Iraq, headed by the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Abdelbari al-Zibari.


Welcoming the guests, Minister Nalbandian highly appreciated the active partnership between the parliaments of Armenia and Iraq, that is continuously developing and being replenished with new content.

Expressing gratitude for the reception, Abdelbari al-Zibari stressed that parliamentary diplomacy has its unique role in the further deepening of relations between Armenia and Iraq.

Throughout the meeting the interlocutors touched upon the Armenian-Iraqi cooperation agenda, noting that the current high level of political relations gives an opportunity to deepen and enhance bilateral cooperation in trade and economic, scientific, educational and cultural spheres, tourism and other areas.

The parties also touched upon the process of implementation of agreements reached at the high-level during mutual visits, creation of favourable conditions for promoting cooperation between business circles, expansion of the legal framework.

Both sides highlighted the important role of the Iraqi-Armenian community in promoting cooperation between the two friendly countries.
