Meeting of Deputy Foreign Minister Garen Nazarian with the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland Samuli Virtanen

On November 14, Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Garen Nazarian received Samuli Virtanen, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland, who is on a working visit to Armenia.

During the meeting the sides discussed issues related to the expansion of the bilateral agenda, noting that since the establishment of diplomatic relations the Armenian-Finnish political and economic dialogue has been continuously developing.

The discussions were focused on the issues related to the expansion of trade and economic cooperation, the sides exchanged thoughts on promoting interaction in sectoral directions.

Deputy Foreign Minister Nazarian touched upon the assistance programmes of Finland as a donor country in various spheres, which contribute to the continuation of socio-economic reforms in Armenia, and highlighted the effective contacts between Armenia and Finland within the framework of various international organizations as well as cooperation with the European Union.

At the request of the Finnish side, Garen Nazarian presented Armenia's approaches to the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and developments in the region.

On the same day Samuli Virtanen was received by Armen Gevorgyan, the head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Armenia.
