Deputy Minister Garen Nazarian took part in parliamentary hearings

On December 1, Parliamentary hearings on the theme of "Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership", jointly organized by the National Assembly Standing Committees on Foreign Relations and European Integration, as well as the “Konrad Adenauer” Foundation, were held in the Session Hall of the National Assembly.

Garen Nazarian, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, was one of the key rapporteurs, who highlighted the importance of debates on the priorities of Armenia's foreign policy, conducted under the auspices of the National Assembly and with the active engagement of the public sector.

Garen Nazarian presented the main directions of the Armenia-EU intensive cooperation, singling out the signing of a new framework agreement with EU on November 24, in Brussels. Deputy Minister noted that the agreement is a comprehensive document reflecting the recent developments in bilateral cooperation and setting out the landmarks for their deepening. During his several interventions, Deputy Minister presented in details the background and the process of the negotiations, structure of the document and its main objectives. Garen Nazarian highlighted that the agreement, in particular, provides an opportunity for promoting close and regular cooperation based on equal partnership, strengthening relations between the parties, implementing reforms and approximation.

Throughout the discussion, Garen Nazarian answered the questions on the main provisions and separate articles of the agreement, raised by the Armenian lawmakers, expert community and analytical centers participating in the hearings .
