Meeting of Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Finland

On the margins of the 24th OSCE Ministerial Council, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met with Timo Soini, Foreign Minister of Finland.


Minister Nalbandian congratulated his counterpart on the 100th anniversary of Finland’s independence. The Foreign Ministers commended that during 25 years of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Finland the bilateral relations have continuously deepened by encompassing new spheres of cooperation.

The interlocutors discussed the ways of boosting political dialogue between the two countries, intensifying trade and economic ties and promoting cultural exchanges. The sides highlighted the importance of strengthening inter-parliamentary ties, expanding legal framework, as well as deepening cooperation within international organizations.

Within the context of signing the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement between Armenia and the European Union, the issues related to the Armenia-EU cooperation were touched upon.

Edward Nalbandian briefed his interlocutor on the joint efforts exerted by Armenia and the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair countries towards the exclusively peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
