Meeting of Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Iceland

Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, who is in Vienna on a working visit, met with Gudlaugur Thor Thordarson, Foreign Minister of Iceland.

During the meeting the interlocutors noted that the current level of relations between the two countries does not reflect the existing potential and joint steps aimed at further strengthening of bilateral relations in different spheres should be taken.

Foreign Ministers shared the view that such meetings and high-level mutual visits may contribute to the deepening of beneficial cooperation in the areas of mutual interest.

Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Iceland highlighted the importance of expanding legal framework, establishing a mechanism for consultations between the Foreign Ministries, as well as exchanged views on the deepening of cooperation in international platforms.

The Ministers discussed the boosting of trade and economic cooperation and in that regard highlighted the importance of organizing business forums.
