On March 12, Deputy Foreign Minister Ashot Hovakimian received the newly appointed Ambassador of Malaysia Datuk Mat Dris Haji Yaacob (residence in Moscow) on the occasion of handing over the copies of his credentials.

Deputy Minister Hovakimian congratulated Datuk Mat Dris Haji Yaacob on his appointment and wished him success in his mission. Ashot Hovakimian expressed hope that the newly appointed Ambassador will direct his activities towards developing bilateral cooperation.

Expressing gratitude for the reception and congratulations, the Ambassador assured that Malaysia is interested in expanding the relations with Armenia, and he will put all possible efforts to strengthen cooperation.

At the meeting the sides discussed issues related to deepening the cooperation between the two countries in different fields, strengthening the cooperation between Foreign Ministries and within the framework of international organizations, expansion of the legal framework, boosting trade and economic relations.

The interlocutors also touched upon urgent regional and international issues.
