Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian participated in the "Sustainable Development Goals: Armenia's Experience" roundtable discussion in Stockholm

On March 13, in Stockholm, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian and Ulrika Modéer, State Secretary for International Development Cooperation of Sweden, opened the roundtable discussion organized by the Government of Sweden and the United Nations, and entitled "Sustainable Development Goals and the Implementation of the Agenda 2030: Armenia's Experience".

In his opening remarks, Minister Nalbandian noted that Armenia has gained certain positive experience in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals and such events provide a good opportunity to present it to partners and explore the work carried out in other countries in this regard. "We are glad that Armenia’s progress and experience have been noticed by our Swedish partners," stressed the Armenian Foreign Minister.

The Armenian Foreign Minister noted, that currently Armenia has completed the nationalization process of the Sustainable Development Goals by synchronizing it with the National Development Strategy 2030 and the overall reforms. He further added that, "this process is complemented by the National SDG Innovation LAB, which is a joint initiative of the Government of Armenia and the UNDP Country office."

Foreign Minister Nalbandian stressed with satisfaction that Armenia, among 47 other countries, will present its first voluntary national review at the high-level political forum to be held under the auspices of the UN Economic and Social Council.

Erik Gyulazyan, Director of National SDG Innovation Lab, and Hovhannes Ghazaryan, Head of the UN Resident Coordinator's Office participated in the roundtable.
