The event titled "Economic and Social Opportunities for Women and Girls in Rural Areas" continued in the UN

On March 13, at the United Nations headquarters, in the margins of the 62nd Session of the Commission on the Status of Women, the Permanent Mission of Armenia to the UN in collaboration with the Permanent Missions of Cyprus, Belgium, Bulgaria and Kazakhstan co-organised a side event entitled “Access to health as a mean for empowering women and girls in rural areas”.

In his closing remarks Ambassador Zohrab Mnatsakanyan referred to the national policies of Armenia as well as the awareness raising campaigns related to the empowerment of women in rural areas by way of providing access to health.

On 14 March the Permanent Mission of Armenia participated in Bulgaria`s voluntary presentation on the review theme of 62nd Session of the Commission on the Status of Women - “Participation in and access of women to the media, and information and communications technologies and their impact on and use as an instrument for the advancement and empowerment of women”. In his remarks Ambassador Mnatsakanyan stressed that Armenia, as a strong supporter and promoter of Information Communication Technologies and innovations, recognizes the important role innovation and creative education can have for the empowerment of women and referred to the relevant projects that are being implemented in Armenia.
