Deputy Foreign Minister Garen Nazarian participated in the Eastern Partnership Panel on Public Administration Reform

On March 15, Garen Nazarian, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, participated in the Panel on Public Administration Reform held in Yerevan within the framework of Eastern Partnership Platform 1. Representatives of the European Commission, EU member states and partner countries took part in the event.

Welcoming the participants of the panel, Garen Nazarian pointed out that this meeting in Yerevan is the first one after launching the EaP revised architecture in Brussels a few days ago. He also noted that the "20 Deliverables for 2020", endorsed at the Eastern Partnership Summit in Brussels and officially included in the Joint Declaration, will serve as a new guideline, which in the coming years will lead all the processes within the format of the joint partnership agenda, including the formation of a public service in line with the principles of professionalism, apoliticality, accountability and ethics.

Speaking about Armenia-EU cooperation, Garen Nazarian noted that important provisions, such as strengthening democracy, the rule of law, development of public and social structures, etc., are the basis for both the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement and the Partnership Priorities, the effective implementation of which will significantly impact further activities of the Armenian society and government.

The meeting had on its agenda discussion of a number of key issues related to public administration, including strategic planning, role of local authorities and civil society, as well as issues of e - governance and digitalization.
