Foreign Minister of Armenia received newly appointed Ambassador of Ireland

On March 26, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received Michael Forbes, the newly appointed Ambassador of Ireland to Armenia (residence in Sofia), on the occasion of handing over the copies of his credentials.

Congratulating Michael Forbes, Minister Nalbandian expressed hope that the newly appointed ambassador will contribute to further deepening and strengthening of the Armenian-Irish relations.

Expressing gratitude for the reception, Ambassador Forbes assured that during his term, he would make maximum efforts to give a new impetus to the Armenian-Irish relations.

During the meeting, Edward Nalbandian and Michael Forbes discussed bilateral agenda issues, touched upon joint steps for intensification of the political dialogue and development of trade and economic relations, underlined the importance of activating inter-parliamentary ties, expanding legal framework and promoting cultural exchanges.

It was mutually stated that the signing of the Armenia-European Union Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement could provide opportunities for a further deepening and expansion of relations both in bilateral and the Armenia-EU formats.

Minister Nalbandian presented to Ambassador Forbes the joint efforts of Armenia and the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair countries aimed at peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
