On May 18, President of the Republic of Artsakh Bako Sahakyan received Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, the Foreign Minister of Armenia who arrived in Stepanakert.

Congratulating Minister Mnatsakanyan on his appointment as Foreign Minister, President Sahakyan expressed his unconditional support to the Foreign Minister and wished him success in his responsible mission.

Expressing gratitude for good wishes and support, Minister Mnatsakanyan underscored that it was clear that his first visit should be to Artsakh where he should receive the needed impetus. "Artsakh is of great importance for all Armenians, it is one of the most important pillars of our identity. Our primary responsibility is to ensure the security of Artsakh and its people, " Minister Mnatsakanyan emphasized.

The interlocutors touched upon the negotiation process of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement. In that context Minister Mnatsakanyan presented the talks that he has had on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement and the preparatory works for the forthcoming meetings with the Co-Chairs.

The President of Artsakh highlighted the importance of continuity of consultations and meetings between Stepanakert and Yerevan, underlining that they give an opportunity to discuss different issues related to foreign policy, to identify the ways and joint steps for their solution.
