On June 12, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Garen Nazarian received Verena Taylor, Council of Europe Director of the Office of the Directorate General of Programmes (ODGP), who arrived in Armenia to participate in the Final Steering Committee Meeting for the Implementation of the 2015-2018 Council of Europe Action Plan for Armenia, held on the same day.

Welcoming the guest, the Deputy Minister highlighted the importance of the visits of Verena Taylor to Armenia within the framework of the Steering Committee Meetings for the Implementation of the 2015-2018 Council of Europe Action Plan for Armenia and the regular consultations held during those visits, which allowed to closely follow the implementation of the CoE programmes for Armenia and ensure their effectiveness. Garen Nazarian underscored that the Armenian authorities have a responsible approach to the implementation of the components of the Action Plan, which is being successfully realized.

Verena Taylor, the Council of Europe Director of the Office of the Directorate General of Programmes noted that the Action Plan is one of the most effectively implemented projects with an integrated financing. She reaffirmed the Council of Europe's interest to keep supporting Armenia in the course of further reforms aimed at strengthening democracy, human rights and the rule of law.

The interlocutors also exchanged views on the priorities of the next Action Plan for 2019-2022.
