Armenian Foreign Minister received OSCE Ambassadors

On June 18, Foreign Minister of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan received the permanent representatives of about two dozen OSCE participating States, who are in Yerevan on a regional visit.

Welcoming the OSCE Ambassadors, Minister Mnatsakanyan underlined that Armenia attaches great importance to multilateral cooperation within the OSCE framework, which resulted in significant reforms, that were implemented in our country. The Minister stressed that Armenia, in its turn, was actively engaged in all three dimensions of the activity of the Organization and brought its contribution to the improvement of the structure's effectiveness and reputation.

Foreign Minister of Armenia briefed the interlocutors on recent developments in Armenia, touched upon the ongoing reforms in the country and the new programme of the Government. In this regard, the role of civil society and active youth in Armenia was highlighted.

OSCE Ambassadors noted that after a six-year break, this regular regional visit provides good opportunity to get acquainted with the internal political developments in Armenia and assess the regional security situation.

The participants of the meeting highlighted the importance of continuity of the OSCE programmes in Armenia. In this context, Minister Mnatsakanyan expressed his support for the initiatives in this direction.

At the meeting the sides exchanged views on the priorities of Armenia's new government, regional and international developments, and the OSCE.
