Deputy Foreign Minister Ashot Hovakimian participated in the opening ceremony of the UNESCO Training on the Conservation and Restoration of Manuscripts and Archival Documents

On June 22, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Ashot Hovakimian participated in the opening ceremony of the “UNESCO Training on the Conservation and Restoration of Manuscripts and Archival Documents”, held at the “Matenadaran” Mesrop Mashtots Research Institute of Ancient Manuscripts, and intended for the Syrian experts.

Welcoming the participants, Ashot Hovakimian noted that the training will provide the heritage professionals and researchers with a good opportunity to enhance technical assistance and capacity-building by studying the best practices of the Armenian experts, as well as to create solid basis for further effective cooperation.

Information Note: The “UNESCO Training on the Conservation and Restoration of Manuscripts and Archival Documents” is co-organized by the ‘’Matenadaran’’ and ‘’Mashtots’’ Foundations, Armenian National Commission for UNESCO, in the framework of the “Emergency Safeguarding of the Syrian Cultural Heritage” UNESCO project financed by the European Union and supported by the Governments of the Republic of Austria and Flanders.
