The newly appointed Ambassador of Ukraine handed the copies of his credentials to the Foreign Minister of Armenia

On September 7, Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan received the newly appointed Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Armenia, Pyotr Litvin, on the occasion of handing over the copies of his credentials.

Congratulating Pyotr Litvin upon his appointment and wishing success in his important mission, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan expressed conviction that the Ambassador will contribute to a further expansion and deepening of Armenian-Ukrainian friendly relations.

Minister Mnatsakanyan and Ambassador Litvin discussed numerous issues of the bilateral agenda highlighting the necessity of taking practical steps to broaden the cooperation in the spheres of science, culture and tourism.

The counterparts highly assessed the role of the Armenian community of Ukraine in the social and political, social-economic, scientific-educational and other areas of the state. In this regard, Foreign Minister of Armenia expressed gratitude for the caring attitude of the Ukrainian authorities towards the Armenian community and the steps undertaken with the aim of preserving the Armenian cultural values ​​and national identity.

Within the context of deepening trade and economic relations both sides commended the growth of the trade turnover between Armenia and Ukraine.

At the same time, the parties shared the view that certain practical steps should be taken, including within the framework of the Intergovernmental Commission, to make full use of the existing potential in the trade and economic sphere.

At the meeting, the Foreign Minister of Armenia briefed on the approaches and priorities of Armenia in the process of peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, stressing that attempts to artificially shift the process to other formats undermine the efforts of Co-Chairs aimed at resolution of the conflict. The interlocutors agreed that there is no alternative to the peaceful settlement of the conflict.
