On September 27, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, who is participating in the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly in New York, met with his Algerian counterpart Abdelkader Messahel.

The interlocutors exchanged views on a number of issues of bilateral agenda. Foreign Ministers underscored the commitment to take practical steps towards strengthening the cooperation in various fields, highlighting in this context the importance of holding political consultations between Foreign Ministries of the two countries.

Foreign Ministers also touched upon the prospects of developing the cooperation within the framework of international organizations.

The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Algeria discussed issues related to preparations for the 17th Summit of La Francophonie to be held in Yerevan and planned side events.
