On September 27, on the sidelines of the 73rd session of United Nations General Assembly, a meeting took place between Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah, the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Kuwait.

The Ministers noted that this year marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Kuwait, which is a good opportunity to summarize the past experience and outline the steps to be taken towards more effective realization of the potential for further development of relations. In this context the Foreign Ministers stressed the importance of conducting frequent consultations between the Foreign Ministries of two countries.

The interlocutors had a substantial discussion over the wide array of issues related to the bilateral agenda and cooperation in multilateral platforms, highlighting the importance of intensification of the political dialogue, as well as the expansion and deepening of cooperation in the fields of tourism, culture, science, education, and innovation, among other ways, through reinvigorating the activities of the intergovernmental commission.

The heads of Foreign Ministries of Armenia and Kuwait highly appreciated the role of the Armenian Community of Kuwait as the link binding two friendly countries.

The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Kuwait discussed a number of international and regional issues. Zohrab Mnatsakanyan briefed on the efforts towards the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
