Foreign Minister of Armenia met with the United Nations High Representative

On September 27, in New York, Foreign Minister of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan had a meeting with Fekitamoeloa Katoa, the UN High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States.

The sides discussed issues related to ensuring a sustainable communication of landlocked countries with the outside world, emphasizing the necessity to ensure regional cooperation, involvement of all countries and participation of transit countries in solving the issues of landlocked states.

The counterparts highlighted the importance of implementation of the Vienna Action Plan on landlocked countries and the intergovernmental processes within its framework as a step towards promoting a sustainable and inclusive development policy.

Minister Mnatsakanyan underlined that for Armenia as a landlocked country that have borders closed by its two neighbors the mobility and safe transportation are of key importance.
