On October 11, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with Audrey Azoulay, the Director General of the UNESCO, who arrived in Armenia to participate in the 17th Summit of the International Organization of La Francophonie.

The interlocutors discussed issues related to active involvement of Armenia in UNESCO, exchanged views on joint programmes and projects in scientific, educational and cultural spheres. In that context, both sides emphasized the importance of fully exploiting the potential of UNESCO platforms for the exchange of experience in the areas of innovation and creative education.

Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Audrey Azoulay touched upon the agenda of the 17th Summit of the OIF and it’s side events. They agreed that the OIF and UNESCO are united by common values ​​and goals that could serve as a good basis for effective cooperation in a number of areas.
