The cultural event “Unraveling Parajanov’s masterpiece. The colour of pomegranates” was organized in London

On 28th of November, the Asia House hosted cultural soiree “Unraveling Parajanov’s masterpiece. The colour of pomegranates”, which was organised in partnership with the Armenian Institute and under the joint auspices of the Armenian and Georgian Embassies in London.

Ms. Hayarpi Drmeyan, representative of the Embassy of Armenia to the UK, delivered remarks at the event. She expressed gratitude to the organizers and emphasized the interest and love of the Armenian people towards artistic heritage of Parajanov and Sayat-Nova, the two great artists who embody cultural connections between Armenia and Georgia.

The evening was opened by the remarks of Juan De Lara, representative of the Asia House. Ms. Hayarpi Drmeyan, Third Secretary of the Embassy of Armenia and Mrs. Neli Shiolashvili, Senior Councillor of the Georgian Embassy welcomed the guests of the event. Mrs. Nouritza Matossian, director of the Armenian Institute, spoke about the life and art of Sergey Parajanov and Sayat-Nova. After the screening of the “The Color of pomegranates” film, the guests were invited to taste traditional Armenian savouries and Georgian wine, provided by the two Embassies in the UK.
