Meeting of Zohrab Mnatsakanyan with the Chair of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the European Parliament

On December 4, in Brussels Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, acting Foreign Minister of Armenia, met with David McAllister, Chair of the European Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs.

The interlocutors touched upon issues on the agenda of Armenia-EU relations, highlighting that the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement provides new opportunities for the further expansion of cooperation between Armenia and the EU in different areas.

Referring to the latest domestic political developments in Armenia, the acting Foreign Minister presented the government’s tangible accomplishments and positive developments towards the implementation of reforms based on a broad mandate of the public, highlighting the organization of elections that reflect the will of the people and are in line with international standards as an important milestone in this process.

The sides exchanged views on a wide range of pressing regional and international issues. Zohrab Mnatsakanyan presented Armenia’s position on and approaches to the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, reiterating the commitment of the Armenian side to an exclusively peaceful resolution of the issue within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship.
