The meeting between Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and the Diplomatic Adviser to the President of France

On February 15, while in Munich on a working visit, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with Philippe Étienne, Diplomatic Adviser to the President of France.

During the meeting, the sides had a detailed exchange of views on expanding the traditionally friendly Armenian-French relations and enriching the bilateral multifaceted cooperation agenda.

In this context, the interlocutors commended the bilateral political dialogue, which is symbolized with the regular high level contacts and reciprocal visits between the two countries.

The sides shared the view that the Armenian community in France highly contributes to Armenian-French interstate affairs and traditionally friendly relations between the people’s of two countries serving as bridge between Armenia and France.

Touching upon the Armenia-EU relations the Foreign Minister of Armenia and the Adviser of the French President highlighted the importance of the Comprehensive and Advanced Partnership Agreement between Armenia and EU which extends new opportunities for the cooperation in various fields with the EU member states.

The Foreign Minister of Armenia also briefed his interlocutor on the priorities of the Government of Armenia outlining the spheres of high technologies, innovation and creative education as main priorities of the development agenda. Both sides commended the good examples of Armenian-French cooperation already recorded in these spheres, which indicates the existing great potential.

Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Philippe Étienne touched upon the collaboration on international fora, with this regard particularly highlighting the platform of the International Organization of La Francophonie.

The Foreign Minister of Armenia reiterated Armenia’s commitment to the exclusively peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship by highlighting the joint efforts being undertaken by France, along with the other Co-Chair countries Russia and the United States, in this direction.
