On February 25, Consulate General of Armenia in Los Angeles organized a town hall meeting with the Armenian community of Los Angeles for Mr. Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport of the National Assembly of Armenia, upon the request of the latter. Consul General of Armenia Dr. Armen Baibourtian delivered a welcoming speech at the meeting, followed by Mkhitar Hayrapetyan's presentation.

The participants of the meeting addressed numerous questions to Mkhitar Hayrapetyan. He spoke about reform processes in Armenia, Armenia-Diaspora relations, new structure in the Government to replace the Ministry of Diaspora. On the same day, member of the National Assembly Mkhitar Hayrapetyan visited Consulate General of Armenia in Los Angeles, where he was received by the Consul General. Diplomatic staff of the Consulate General was present at the meeting.

On the same day, Consulate General also organized meetings for the Chairman of the Standing Committee with the spiritual leaders of the Armenian community in the West Coast, namely Primate of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Bishop of the Armenian Catholic Eparchy in the USA and Canada Mikael Mouradian, and Pastor of the Union of Evangelical Churches of North America Berj Jambazian.
