Meeting of Consul General Baibourtian with Los Angeles County Sheriff

On March 10, Consul General of Armenia Armen Baibourtian paid a visit to the newly elected Los Angeles County (the largest county in the United States with a population of 10.5 million) Sheriff Alex Villanueva.

Ambassador Baibourtian congratulated the Sheriff on assuming his important position. During the meeting, they discussed agenda items relating to cooperation with Armenia, Armenian communities of Southern California with focus on Los Angeles, as well as the Armenian-American community at large.

Sheriff Villanueva highly commended the valuable contribution of the Armenian community to California. On behalf of Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, he expressed willingness to cooperate closely with the Armenian community.

In his turn, Consul General Baibourtian expressed contentment with the constructive working relationships established with the LA Sheriff’s Department, and assured in his support to programs aimed at the Armenian community. Upon his suggestion, specific cooperation projects between the Armenian Consulate General and the Sheriff's department were discussed. An agreement was reached to plan and carry out joint functions.
