Meeting of Ambassador Arman Kirakossian with UK Minister of State for Europe and the Americas Alan Duncan

On March 11, Arman Kirakossian, Ambassador of Armenia to the United Kingdom, met with Alan Duncan, Minister of State for Europe and the Americas in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the United Kingdom.  

Welcoming Arman Kirakossian, Minister Duncan congratulated him upon the assuming the position of Ambassador and wished him a success in his mission.

At the request of Ambassador Kirakossian, Alan Duncan presented the current situation with the Brexit and possible scenarios of the development of the process.  

Touching upon the bilateral agenda, the Ambassador and the Minister shared the view that the relations between Armenia and UK are at a high level. It was noted that the cooperation between the two states after the Brexit should be continued based on the positive and rich experience accumulated in both bilateral and multilateral dimensions, as well as on a solid legal framework.

During the conversation, Arman Kirakossian presented the ongoing process of reforms in Armenia and the priorities of the government, including the fight against corruption and economic reforms, by highlighting the importance of British investments in Armenia. 

Ambassador briefed the State Minister Duncan on Armenia's approaches and position regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, as well as the recent developments in the negotiation process.

Ambassador Kirakossian expressed gratitude for the implementation of different British programs in Armenia since independence and underlined their importance for our country.
