The Foreign Minister of Armenia received the NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for Women, Peace and Security

On March 14, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, Foreign Minister of Armenia, received Clare Hutchinson, the NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for Women, Peace and Security.

Minister Mnatsakanyan welcomed Clare Hutchinson’s visit to Armenia within the framework of the NATO week launched in Armenia, and commended her participation in discussion titled ‘’Women, peace and security: International and Armenian practice’’ to be held on March 15.

Minister Mnatsakanyan underscored that Armenia attaches great importance to the  agenda and mandate of the NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for Women, Peace and Security, since women are direct stakeholders of security and governmental institution building. According to the Minister, the participation of women in public life at national and global levels is a matter of security and Armenia is committed to promote women's agenda on various multilateral platforms.

Both sides commended the fact that the Government of Armenia approved National Action Plan 2019-2021 for the Implementation of the UN Security Council’s Resolution 1325 "Women, Peace and Security."
