Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan's meeting with the PACE President Liliane Maury Pasquier

On March 27, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, Foreign Minister of Armenia, received Liliane Maury Pasquier, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), who pays an official visit to Armenia.

Minister Mnatsakanyan welcomed the first visit of Maury Pasquier to Armenia after her election as the President of PACE. The Foreign Minister of Armenia and PACE President recalled their meeting within the margins of the Foreign Minister's working visit to the Council of Europe in November, commending this opportunity to record the results of discussions in Yerevan, particularly, concerning the high assessment of snap parliamentary elections in Armenia held in December 2018, by all international observation missions, including the one from PACE.

Both sides commended that the recent high-level contacts, as well as already paid and upcoming reciprocal visits attest to the consistency of active and dynamic dialogue and positively comprehensive agenda between Armenia and the Council of Europe.

Minister Mnatsakanyan highlighted the role of the Council of Europe in the establishment and development of democracy in Armenia. Touching upon the latest domestic developments in Armenia, Foreign Minister of Armenia underscored the government's commitment to implement reforms based on the broad popular mandate, particularly in the spheres of good governance, fight against corruption, as well as legal, judicial and socio-economic fields.

The Foreign Minister and the PACE President touched upon the cooperation between Armenia and the Council of Europe, exchanged views on the current issues in the Council of Europe agenda.
