Zohrab Mnatsakanyan Meets with Giovanie Biha, Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa

On April 3, within the margins of his official visit to Ethiopia, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with Giovanie Biha, Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa.

Minister Mnatsakanyan noted that Armenia attaches special importance to advancing relations with the African countries and expanding Armenia's engagement in the region and, in this regard, the visit to Ethiopia is a good opportunity to outline the long-term programs. In this process Minister Mnatsakanyan highlighted the utilization of different platforms provided by the United Nations.

Head of Business Incubator Foundation (EIF) business development Amalya Yeghoyan, representative of Armenia's Leading Technology Enterprises Association and founder of "Istigate" company Vahagn Poghosyan and IUnetworks CEO Levon Babayan presented the experience of Armenia in the spheres of information technologies, creative education and e-governance, highlighting the importance of initiating projects aimed at exchanging experiences with the African countries.

The interlocutors discussed in details the prospects of elaborating joint programs for the digital agenda development in the region and localization of solutions implemented n Armenia in this sphere.

The Armenian Foreign Minister presented to the counterparts from the UN Economic Commission the preparations for the 23rd World IT Forum to be held in Yerevan this October.
