Political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and China

On May 6, political consultations were held between the Foreign Ministry of Armenia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China. Тhe Chinese delegation was headed by Guo Zhijun, the Adviser to the Department of Eastern European and Central Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China and the Armenian delegation was led by Areg Hovhannisyan, Head of Department of Asia, Pacific Ocean and Africa of the MFA of Armenia.

In the course of the consultations, the sides discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest, including bilateral political dialogue and reciprocal visits, expansion and deepening of cooperation, as well as collaboration in the international fora. Views were exchanged on regional issues and cooperation within the framework of Eurasian Economic Union.

The sides commended the fact that this year positive developments were registered in terms of introducing Armenian wine products to Chinese market, as well as of a flow private investments from China to Armenia’s small and medium business sector which was driven by the improvement of Armenia's business environment.

The PRC delegation also had a meeting with Avet Adonts, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia. Deputy Minister emphasized the need to exert additional efforts within the framework of this year’s scheduled mutual visits and events in political, economic and cultural spheres in order to ensure the advancement of the entire complex of Armenian-Chinese cooperation.
