On July 2, Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan received Cornel Ionescu, the newly appointed Ambassador of Romania to Armenia  on the occasion of extending the copy of his credentials.

Congratulating Cornel Ionescu on his appointment and wishing success in his responsible mission, the Foreign Minister expressed hope that through his consistent efforts the newly appointed Ambassador will make an important contribution to the further development and deepening of Armenian-Romanian relations based on mutual respect and centuries-old friendship. In this context, both sides highly appreciated the importance of the Armenian community in social and political life of Romania and its bridging role in the relations between the two countries.

The interlocutors exchanged views on the current relations between Armenia and Romania, the regional security and challenges as well as the Armenia-EU partnership.
