On December 18, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with Konstantin Kosachev, the Chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and Ruben Rubinyan, the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of the Armenian National Assembly.

Welcoming the guests, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan highly appreciated the active dialogue at different levels of the Armenian-Russian allied relations and readiness of two sides to take practical steps towards further expanding and enriching the existing cooperation on different platforms. In this context, both sides emphasized the importance of full use of the parliamentary platform`s potential as a component of the bilateral agenda.

Interlocutors highlighted the tradition of reciprocal support and trust between Armenia and Russia on international parliamentary platforms and reiterated the mutual willingness to continue close cooperation.

At the request of the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Federation Council, Foreign Minister presented the latest developments on the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process. Both sides emphasized that there is no alternative to a peaceful settlement of the conflict and any settlement should be acceptable to the peoples of all parties of the conflict.
