On February 18, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan had a meeting with Toivo Klaar, the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia.

The interlocutors touched upon the process of peaceful settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict and recent meetings held in this framework. Both sides highlighted the importance of giving a real substance to arrangements regarding the preparation of peoples for peace.

In this context, the Foreign Minister of Armenia particularly underscore the importance of sending public signals and messages of peace to their societies at the highest level and noted that the Azerbaijani side keeps pursuing a maximalist stance denying the rights of the people of Artsakh, which inhibits the progress in the peace process.

The sides exchanged views on the multilateral agenda of the Armenia-EU partnership, touched upon urgent international and regional issues.
