On February 28, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with Stanislav Zas, the Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, who is in Armenia on an official visit.

Welcoming the guests, Minister Mnatsakanyan congratulated Stanislav Zas upon assuming the position of the CSTO Secretary General and expressed hope that he will contribute to the implementation of common goals set by the Organization.

The interlocutors exchanged detailed views on the cooperation within the framework of the Organization. Stressing the important role of the CSTO in Armenia’s security system, Foreign Minister noted that the close cooperation between the member-states is of vital importance for raising the effectiveness of the Organization's activities, jointly addressing the CSTO issues and challenges.

During the meeting, the interlocutors touched upon the international and regional issues.

Within the framework of his visit to Armenia, the CSTO Secretary General visited the Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex and paid tribute to the memory of Holy Martyrs of the Armenian Genocide.
