On October 2, Foreign Minister Mnatsakanyan held a phone conversation with Luigi Di Maio, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy.

Minister Mnatsakanyan briefed his interlocutor on the situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone resulting from the Azerbaijani aggression, which is accompanied by the deliberate targeting of civilian population and infrastructure of Armenia and Artsakh by using heavy artillery by the Azerbaijani air force.

Minister Mnatsakanyan expressed strong concern over the direct involvement of foreign armed terrorists in the hostilities sponsored by Turkey.

Both sides underlined the importance of undertaking actions aimed at an immediate cessation of hostilities.
