The preliminary report and the results of the fact-finding mission of the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Artsakh on the consequences of Azerbaijan’s aggression have been circulated through diplomatic channels
06 October, 2020On October 5, the preliminary report and the results of the fact-finding mission of the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Artsakh on the humanitarian crisis resulted by Azerbaijan’s aggression against the Republic of Artsakh, carried out with the support of Turkey and foreign terrorist fighters, were circulated through diplomatic channels of the Foreign Ministry of Armenia.
According to the results of the fact-finding mission of the Office of the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Artsakh, as of October 4, 2020, 19 civilians were killed, including 1 female child, 7 women and 11 men. The child, 5 women and 4 men were killed near their homes, and others were killed in the vicinity of public places of different settlements (Central Square, district). Deaths were registered in the cities of Stepanakert (7 people), Martuni (6 people), Hadrut (1 person) and Martakert (3 people), in Alashan settlement of Martakert region (1 person) and adjacent areas of Mets Shen community (1 person).
About 80 people were wounded, 60 of whom had received serious injuries. 48 of them are male and 12 are female.
24 of the above-mentioned civilians had been injured as a result of a missile blast at or near their places of residence, 6 had been targeted and hit while being transported to a relatively safe place, and seven had been injured during the missile attack on the State Emergency Service building, 23 of them as a result of targeting of other public places.
Since September 27, the Azerbaijani armed forces have targeted more than 60 civilian settlements in the Republic of Artsakh, destroying or causing damage to numerous infrastructures and private property. Particularly, according to the preliminary data, more than 2100 private properties (residential houses, shops, etc.), more than 240 cars, about 350 infrastructural and industrial facilities have been seriously damaged.
The above-mentioned data is not final, as to this date the Azerbaijani side continues the deliberate shelling of the capital of the Republic of Artsakh Stepanakert and other civilian settlements.
